Should women be allowed to teach in a Baptist Church?

Our pastor has challenged the congregation to show him biblical reasons why they should not be allowed to teach.  Any takers?

Can Satan Read Our Minds?

The Bible gives us no reason to believe Satan and his demons can read our minds. Clearly that would take a measure of omnipresence and omniscience, which they do not have. However, Satan and his demons have been observing and tempting human beings for thousands of years. In addition, they can overhear our speech when we talk to others (and to ourselves!). Surely they have learned a few things about us over the years. Even without the ability to know our thoughts, they can probably make a well-educated guess as to what we are thinking, and then attempt to use it to their advantage. That is why we are commanded to “Submit yourselves, then, to God”

Once Saved, Always Saved?

Today I want to bring direct your attention to an old Baptist disagreement that revolves around salvation.  There are some Baptist who believe that once saved always saved.  That once a believer confesses Christ and receives the impartation of the Holy Spirit he or she can never lose their salvation.  Baptist who argue in favor of this position point to scriptures such as John 10:25-30 and Romans 8:38-39 which suggest that once a person has received the salvific love of God nothing can separate them from that love.  However, like many Methodist there are other Baptists who will argue that a person can backslide.  Such Baptist take the stance that if someone receives salvation through Christ but then turns and denounces His Lordship by refusing to live in a manner consistent with His commandments they will have forfeited their salvation.  Proponents of this argument will point to scriptures such as Matthew 13:3-9,18-23 and Colossians 1:19-23 which suggest that one can receive the Word of God and lose it, therefore, the only way for one to secure their salvation is to continue in the faith and not deviate from it.

Is it true, once saved always saved or can a born again believer backslide?  What are your thoughts?
